Taking a leap and going Freelance

Six weeks ago I quit my job.

It wasn’t a decision I took lightly as I worked for a great company and had amazing colleagues. However, something was missing.

Although working 9 to 5 is something that is widely accepted as the norm, all I wanted to do was break the cycle.

After working in a whole host of roles through my twenties including sales, marketing and even cabin crew I was ready to become my own boss. I wanted to work on my own hours and choose my own lifestyle, so (free)lancing seemed just the ticket.

I know it’s not going to be all plain sailing and fancy free but I’m excited.

I’ve now had six weeks of freedom and am loving every minute. Since leaving my job as a Marketing Exec, unexpected work has come up such as an illustration commission and even some TV and Film extra work!

It goes to show that when you want something so much and put your mind to it, you can make it happen.
